Free Syrian Army Southern Front Martyr Ahmed Al-Abdo Forces Number /49/ Date 5/18/2016 In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful Top secret Report of the Commander of the Martyr Ahmad Al-Abdo Forces About the current events at the Tanf crossing From 5/14/2016 to 5/18/2016 More than two months ago, the forces of the martyr Ahmad al-Abdo and the New Syrian Army liberated the al-Tanf crossing (the agriculture building) with the support of the coalition forces. Since that time, a group from the New Syria has been stationed at the crossing and the organization has been trying to target the place permanently, especially with booby-trapped vehicles. On 5/14/2016 at 5:00 AM, the crossing was attacked by a booby-trapped type (B) M (B) which led to the destruction of the weapons depot and the martyrdom of 11 members and the wounding of no less than 15 members of the New Syrian Army. Immediately, a force from the southern camp of the forces of the martyr Ahmad al-Abdo and the Army of the Eastern Lions headed to the crossing to support our sisters in the New Syrian Army. Upon arriving at the crossing, our unit helped in retrieving the martyrs, removing the rubble, occupying positions around the crossing, and helping in securing it to prevent any attack by the organization’s elements. On the second day, the organization also sent a booby-trapped vehicle to the same place with an attack on a vehicle loaded with vehicles estimated at 50 members who were spotted by our elements and dealt with with mortar fire and anti-aircraft guns. The battle lasted for a time ranging between 64 hours later, the next day, ISIS launched mortar fire on our units at the Tanf crossing, which was responded to with 120 mm mortar fire, and the source of fire was affected. The organization’s elements launched repeated soft attacks on the units stationed at the Tanf crossing, all of which failed. All previous attempts with mortar fire and explosive devices were dealt with and destroyed by air strikes. A section of our units are still stationed at the crossing and in a state of full combat readiness. While a group of our units were returning for a change, they were involved in a traffic accident that led to the martyrdom of one of our fighters and the injury of elements.
